Covid – The GIfts That Keeps On Giving ~ Monday, October 2, 2023
What about you? Have you been visited recently by the Covid team? I would love to do a totally non-scientific survey. In the meantime – wash your hands.

Covid - The GIfts That Keeps On Giving ~ Monday, October 2, 2023

Yes, Tulis, I have had Covid recently…I’m thinking about a month ago. Ellie (age 3…a walking Petri dish you mentioned), had just finished her first week @ Montessori. She went back the following Monday when Nola (my daughter/her mom) received an email that a child in her classroom had come down with Covid. Nola had noticed Ellie was starting what she thought was some sniffles & figured a late summer cold. Nope! It was Covid which transferred to the rest of the family + me. Just 1 day of lousiness + loss of smell for me but felt fine by the next day & aromas came wafting back a week later…not as bad as I had it mid March 2020. I was knocked out then & my sense of smell took 2 months to return.
SO…long story short, I’ve had Covid recently.
OK I thought I had replied but they didn’t have the microphone on. This is a fascinating reminder of symptoms. I forgot people lost their smell sense. Year ago in June. That did not happen. These past couple of days that did not happen. Just a load of stuffiness and sniffling a sound achiness sound all mild symptoms. It’s an inconvenience this one. I know it’s not a death threat. And I as I said, I appreciate that
Again thank you so much for the memory. We’re all in this in different ways on that’s wonderful to hear about you and your daughter and your grandchildren and how you’ve muckked thru this.
Hoping that it is not horrible, Tulis. I have today 4 friends including you who have all come down with COVID in the last two weeks. New Variant incredibly contagious. I am so dang over COVID. Exactly! 100 percent because everyone thinks it is over and no one is wearing a mask. The bars down here are full to max everyone laughing and yelling. Bare Faces too close still freak me out.
I think you’re right back to the internet for research.
I am getting my third booster this coming Monday along with Flu shot.

One of the primary care people called me to check in, and when I asked her if there was an increase, she said “oh yes, 100%“ Khashoggi I wonder where our mayor is
Hope you’re feeling better, Tulis. This is motivating me to get to CVS for the remaining booster (s) and flu shot!
I like your story of imagining someone you like coming to visit and figuring out how you would react. I’ve had days with no social energy when I’ve told friends, ‘If Jesus Christ came to the door, I’d have to say, ‘I’m sorry but today is not a good day for a visit.'” My parents would roll over in their graves if they heard me!
Let me know when Mr. Covid leaves the house and we’ll celebrate!

Wow. So glad you’re OK but it must’ve been frightening to have a three-year-old get Covid. I have never even thought of that.
Love this! Love that you relay this bad news with such calm and nonchalance!
And have you been close friends with Covid? I think you told me you had a few friends who were. So let’s take a count!
It’s funny how when you report something it becomes more matter of fact I’m actually going through it.

It’s all very odd. I guess it’s back to the Internet to do some research
