My Father Was An April Fool ~ Monday April 3, 2023
My Father was born on April Fools Day. Our relationship was rocky. Dad wanted things his way because he was the father. I know this because he told me. I wanted things my way because I was the daughter. He knew that because I told him. We drew our lines in the sand, and we waited for the other to blink. For me it was very simple. My father was usually wrong, and I was right.
love it!
Thanks!
I love these musings, Tulis. They are insightful, entertaining, and reflective for me.
I never had a budget either but I guess I should get one too!
Thanks Josh. So glad you are enjoying! Talk soon.
Well done, Tulis. Facing and embracing aging is a privilege that not all are allowed. We are blessed to be among the chosen and we have a responsibility to lead others into the fray. I am pleased to know that we can continue to make the journey. Please keep us all posted regarding your stops along the way.
All uncharted territories!
Fabulous!!
So are you!!!!
Tulis … another BRILLIANT, thought provoking, beautifully uncomfortable musing to listen to. I concur with all of what you’ve shared here and appreciate the wake-up call. Fully received with a wide open heart!!!
So glas tou are enjoying these.
Boy that’s the truth! But I remember when I turned 25, I was blown away by being a quarter of a century old!!! As for a budget…I haven’t had a regular income since 1978. My focus has been learning how to juggle!
Agreed on all counts. Lovely to hear from you. Talk soon?
Yes juggling. That should be a budget type taught in school!
Tulis!!! This is so dead on for so many of us who look at age as something that happens to others or as you put it “I thought I’d lived this long. I just never thought I be this old.” A budget!
I was taught by practical Military German family and father who was Deputy Administrator of Finance for the State of South Carolina about Budget and looking to the future but honestly the future was always so far away. Until now. This is spectacular! Love it! And “there is no guidance no going back.” Horrifyingly Fabulous!
Thank you. Reading what you say about my writing makes me think twice!
