My Father Was An April Fool ~ Monday April 3, 2023
My Father was born on April Fools Day. Our relationship was rocky. Dad wanted things his way because he was the father. I know this because he told me. I wanted things my way because I was the daughter. He knew that because I told him. We drew our lines in the sand, and we waited for the other to blink. For me it was very simple. My father was usually wrong, and I was right.
Tulis, once more a unique essay! Love this – and I don’t like the dark unless I’m in a “quiet room” at a spa – but I appreciate your POV
Thanks. What do you think about that spa thing?
I like the dark too! And all of what you creatively describe in here, especially the trees finally being seen, yes yes yes!! Happy New Year Lady T!!!
You and I should grab a cup of tea and take a walk down the Mall.
I agree dear friend! And this sentence: “It’s the dark that is the home for magic.” Pure Tulis Magic!
This is clearly a case of great minds, think a like.
Love it. Your voice adds so much. I will rethink some of my attitude toward it being dark at 5:00!!
Seems like there must be a reason for it! That darkness. Lovely to hear from you.
I’m all for that extra week of darkness between Christmas and New Year. I think it’s when my own shoots grow, getting ready for the year ahead.
Let’s put this on the list for next year!
Let’s make that happen next year!
Tulis, I absolutely love this essay! You had me thinking of the dark in a different way. And I agree with Sandra Hall…it’s about your voice too & the presentation. Many thanks, dear friend.
Thanks my friend. And ywo weeks later I am eager for light!
